By 2030, 80% of the world's extreme poor will live in the world's most dangerous places, most of them will be children. 

Our programming for Fragile Contexts is a multi-sectoral approach that helps meet four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, to end poverty by 2030. We use a Survive, Adapt, Thrive strategy to help the children and families in these complex, rapidly changing conditions.

  • Survive - We address the immediate survival needs of children and their families, including providing food, water, shelter, and ensuring the safety of children.
  • Adapt- We work with communities to establish stability and adapt more effectively to their situation. This includes rebuilding livelihoods and ensuring primary healthcare services are strong and durable.
  • Thrive - As the local situation stabilizes and strengthens, longer-term development and transformational activities are launched, including those that deal with the root causes of fragility, poverty, insecurity, and broken government systems.

  • Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams to reach refugees and displaced families living in camps with lifesaving healthcare

  • Prevention of sexual violence and abuse, and support for survivors  
  • Support for families, to help them become more resilient to the chaos they face and develop sustainable livelihoods
